Breast augmentation is intended to give the patient larger and more attractive breasts. It is done on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia and requires detailed, individual analysis and planning. A small incision is made around the areola (Areolar), under the breast (Inframammary), under the arm (Axillary) or through the umbilicus (Trans-umblical).
Breasts sag due to discrepancy between the skin envelope and the breast core. Breast lift is intended to address the droopiness of the breasts due to past pregnancies, genetics, or aging. Following this procedure, the patient should achieve an elevated, more youthful breast contour, as well as nipple areola complexes at the correct height on the breast mound.
This procedure is intended to address problems associated with the implant itself, its position and or, the patient’s tissue characteristics that cover the implant. These include: breast implant deflation, dissatisfaction with the size of the implants, capsular contracture, asymmetry, Synmastia (Uni-boob) and wide separation of the implants.
Candidates for this procedure are those patients with large, heavy breasts, back, shoulder and neck pain, bra strap indentations and chafing under the breasts. The procedure is intended to give the patient a more attractive contour and smaller breast size as well as improved self image. With prior pre-authorization, this procedure is commonly covered by insurance.
“Tummy Tuck” is aimed to give the patient a smooth flat contour to the abdomen. It is best suited for patients with loose redundant lower abdominal wall skin, stretch marks and weak abdominal muscles. It is usually performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Liposuction of the hips flanks or thighs are usually performed as additional procedures.
“Mommy Makeover” is a term used to describe combination of plastic surgery procedures to the breasts, abdomen, trunk and extremities. The goal is to address the changes that can occur following pregnancy, childbirth and nursing. Generally speaking, surgeons try to limit these surgeries to 5 hours or less. Therefore, recovery time varies accordingly.
This surgical procedure is employed to enhance the contour and projection of the buttock. In this technique, liposuction is performed in the stomach area, waist, axillary roll area as well as on the thighs. The harvested fat is collected under sterile technique, strained and re-injected using special canulas into the buttock area for augmentation.
A patient with loose floppy skin in his/her arms that are droopy and look worse off when lifting the arms. In this procedure, the excess skin and fat from the arms are removed and the remaining skin is sutured back together. The operation generally results in a slimmer, smoother contour of the upper arms. It is usually done as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia.
A facelift is intended to give you a more rested and youthful contour to the face and neck. Best candidates are those patients with advanced wrinkles in the face and neck, especially those who have the appearance of jowls and deep nasolabial folds and loose neck skin. Facelifts range in extent from “mini” to “standard” depending on location and extent of skin laxity.
Blepharoplasty is a procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the upper and or lower eyelids. This procedure is done as an outpatient surgery. Surgical incisions are made the natural lines of your eyelids; in the creases of your upper lids, and just below the lashes in the lower lids. Incisions are then closed with very fine sutures and stitches will be removed in 3-7 days.
Nose reshaping (Rhinoplasty) is intended to produce a more attractive nasal shape and/or a nose in better proportion to other facial features. It may also be indicated for abnormal appearance of the nose as a result of birth defects, injury, or disease. Rhinoplasty can be done “open” or “closed” as an outpatient basis, usually under general anesthesia.
Otoplasty is performed for patients who have ears that stick out too far from the side of the head. It is also performed when ears have an unusual or undesirable shape. The goal is to create ears that have normal folds and shape with a normal level of protrusion from the side of the head. It is usually performed on an outpatient basis under sedation or local anesthesia.
